Dear all,

Now all the 2021 major journal metrics have been out, and JSR continues to be very strong. We rank no. 1 in Scopus CiteScore (16.3) among major marketing, consumer, and service journals, and rank no. 3 in Web of Science Journal Citation Indicator (JCI) (2.09) among major marketing and consumer journals, and no. 1 among the service journals in the Business category. JCI is a new index that measures the relative impact of the journal to the average in that category. JSR’s JCI is 2.09 (following JM 2.43 and JAMS 2.21), indicating that we have 109% more citation impact than the average in the Business category.

Some of you may have some concern that although we still stand strong in Web of Science JIF (10.05, comparable with last year), some other journals seem to have made a big jump in JIF. Web of Science changed its calculation of JIF this year, using the early access date of an early access article as the publication year, rather than waiting for the article to be in a published issue. This had the effect of expanding the numerator of the JIF for 1 year, providing a one-time boost to journals that have more early access articles.

Look forward to a continuing prosperous year.
