The Journal of Service Research (JSR) is delighted to announce that Professor Florian von Wangenheim joins the editorial team as a Co-Editor. Florian replaces Edward Malthouse as he steps down due to personal reasons. JSR is widely considered the world’s leading service research journal. JSR’s 2-Year Impact Factor is 12.4 and Scopus CiteScore is 17.2, which places it the 1st among the Service journals, 4th among Marketing journals, 5th (top 1%) out of 1,415 Sociology and Political Science journals, 3rd out of 226 Organizational Behavioral and Human Resource Management journals, and 10th out of 154 business journals indexed in the Web of Science.

Florian von Wangenheim is Professor of Technology Marketing, Department of Management, Technology, and Economics, ETH Zürich. He has multiple times served as a panel chair for the European Research Council (Starting Grants), is the Jury President for the Swiss Technology Award by the Swiss Economic Forum and is board member of the Swiss Association for Marketing (GfM). He is the co-founder of the Center for Digital Health Interventions at ETH Zürich and serves on the steering committees of many research labs that bridge industry and academia. He was Chairman of the Department of Mangement, Technology and Economics at ETH Zurich and has been the Academic Director of several study programs.

In his research, he has for a long time focused on the consequences of service technologies that replace, complement and enhance human interaction in service delivery. Most of his research projects are conducted with public and industry partners. His publications appear in marketing, management, informatics, and Health IS journals. He has won several academic awards, among them, the JSR Best Article Award and the Best Service Article Award from the AMA SERVSIG.

Florian will be working with me and my Co-Editors (Clay Voorhees and Martin Wetzels). I believe that Florian has a demonstrated commitment to high quality, high impact service research that will help JSR continue to move the field forward. I am pleased to welcome him to the JSR leadership team as a Co-Editor. We thank Edward for all the wonderful work he has done to make JSR stronger.
